I have always loved all types of animals. They include hogs as a small boy to raising registered Boer Goats and show poultry as an adult with everything in between, I have tried about all of them. The one consistent animal has always been a dog. From my first real pet "Tiger" a Feist/Chihuahua mix to Great Pyrenees and Belgian Malinois, I have been around many breeds. After my first experience with a Jack Russell I quickly realized they were my favorite breed. I also found that the characteristics that I liked most about my first Jack were constant in all Jacks. Energetic, attentive, and eager to please would be the way for me to best describe them. I wouldn't consider them lap dogs even though I feel breeders have started looking for the calmer breeding stock in an attempt to appeal to the folks that prefer that type of companion. When I started my breeding program I tried to purchase dogs from reputable breeders that have proven bloodlines and are true lovers of the breed. We are very excited to start offering what we feel will be dogs that bring many years of entertainment and happiness to your life and family.

All of our breeders are registered with the (AKC)American Kennel Club. Our dogs are also genetically tested, and are clear for SCA and PLL. That means your pup will be clear from those health issues by parentage and it will be your choice to have additional testing done. Most of our dogs are smooth coats with the exception of our male Deuce. He is a broken coat and will likely produce both smooth and broken coat pups. All of our Shorties range from 8" to 10" tall and 10 to 16 pounds. As mentioned above, these dogs were acquired from some of the most reputable breeders in the country. Our goal will always be to improve on the overall quality and standard of this wonderful breed.
The lens of the eye normally lies immediately behind the iris and the pupil, and is suspended in place by a series of fibers, called zonular ligaments. It functions to focus light rays on the retina, in the back of the eye. When partial or complete breakdown of the zonular ligaments occurs, the lens may become partially dislocated (Lens Subluxation) or fully dislocated (Lens Luxation) from the lens' normal position. Lens Luxation can lead to inflammation (Uveitis) and Glaucoma (increased intraocular pressure). This can result in painful, teary, red eyes that may look hazy or cloudy. Both Uveitis and Glaucoma are painful and potentially blinding diseases if not identified and treated early. PLL testing requires a DNA sample.

The cerebellum is the part of the brain responsible for coordinating movements. Ataxia comes from a Greek term meaning "without order". When the cerebellum cannot coordinate movement, the dog can move, but the movement is poorly coordinated. They are not weak, in fact, often the movements a dog with ataxia makes are too strong. They have a goose-stepping gait and when excited or running, their legs may appear to be going every which-way. Sometimes they have problems with their balance and will fall frequently. SCA testing requires a DNA sample.
